Have you fallen off the wagon, have you lost the discipline, the routine, the ritual that you used to do consistently to take care of yourself, to make yourself your best?
Well, that may have a bigger impact than, you know, folks Dr. Kevin here, what we know to be true is if you take care of yourself consistently, if you’re exercising, if you’re going to the gym and working out, if you’re running down the trails or sitting down and meditating, maybe you’re sitting up in a tree and waiting for a deer.
If you’re carving out time to take care of yourself, you are discharging that limbic buildup. Now what’s the limbic buildup, but the limbic building is really that, that stress intention that starts to accumulate in your brain.
If you’ve fallen off the wagon for yourself, taking care of yourself, because you’re so singularly focused on the task of leading your business, you’re actually undermining your own success because there’s a quality called neural mirroring.
You see, when people come together, they start the internal circuits in their brains, start to reflect each other. If I’m all stressed out and I come into yours into your space, you’re going to start to stress out.
So if I’m heightened, I’m going to bring you up. Here’s the thing. As a leader that all gets amplified in Meg, a magnified across your environment.
If you have a higher level of stress or tension, that’s going to start to happen in your organization, others will experience the same thing.
What does that look like? And look like employees who are burned out, who are blowing up or melting down or not showing up, or just plain old disengaged or jumping ship going somewhere else.
Now, more than ever, you can’t afford to have employees disengaged and the surefire way to start down the path towards engaging your employees and bringing out the best is for you to continually sharpen the saw within yourself.
So this is a call a challenge today, get your running shoes out and run down the trail today, go back to the gym, work out, get yourself, sweat today, sit on your meditation, cushion or climb a tree and sit in the woods and wait for the deer to come.
Whatever is your thing, you’ve got to get back on the groove today. It has a bigger impact than, you know, so if you want to create that true high-performance organization, where all your employees are thriving and they’re engaged, it starts with you putting on your running shoes, folks.
This is Dr. Kevin wishing you the best of success. Get your shoes back on, get out there and take care of yourself and recognize the impact is bigger than you think.
